Wadkar’s rendition was a let-down

Although my next blog (on the music of Hindi films released between 1987 and 1989) was titled Bad Times, Great Tracks, it wouldn’t be incorrect to state that the bad times had begun a few years earlier.

Frankly, the title track of Andar Baahar – the only song from the 1984 film on this blog – wasn’t a great track.

The song, which was composed by Burman (who RaiseD the bar in the 1970s), was disappointing.

A line of the track, penned by Gulshan Bawra, went, “Hum hain jahan wahan jalwe”.

Suresh Wadkar’s rendition proved it wrong.
