The hook of this
mind-blowing number, composed by the one and only R D Burman, went, “Yaar
mere”, which could be translated to, “My friend”.
Be it stating that
the best kind of love is one that isn’t unrequited; hoping for a companion who
will change his fortune, praying that his beloved finds everlasting happiness,
or ruing his loss (and another person’s success) in the game of life, S P
Balasubrahmanyam did all that in just four verses penned by Javed Akhtar.
