(Am)It was definitely a chartbuster

Although there was no two ways about the fact that R D Burman’s career was on the wane by the time Jawaani (1984) released, it would be incorrect to state that Tu Rootha To Main Ro Doongi Sanam – the only track from the film on this blog – was the composer’s last hurrah.

The song, which was penned by Gulshan Bawra, was catchy.

(Am)It could be translated to, “If you get upset, I will start crying, darling”, and was rendered by the one and only Asha Bhosle, who was joined behind the microphone by Mr Kumar.
