There’s no two
ways about the fact that Mohabbat Ab Tijarat Ban Gayi Hai – the only
song from Arpan (1983) on this blog – was among the best tracks rendered
by Anwar.
It was his only
contribution to the soundtrack of the film.
When I first heard
the song, I knew that tijarat was an Urdu word, but I didn’t know what
it meant.
Upon looking it up
online, I found that it could be translated to, “Trade”.
The track, which
was penned by Anand Bakshi, was composed by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar and
Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma.
