Nasir Hussain, the
producer and director, was an R D Burman loyalist for almost two decades.
Their association
began with Teesri Manzil (1966) and ended with Zabardast (1985).
More on the latter
later, but this blog contains a post on just one track from their penultimate
film – Manzil Manzil, which released in 1984.
It was titled O
Meri Jaan.
The version on
this blog was rendered by Asha Bhosle.
And the man who
shared Sing(h)ing credits with her was Shailendra (who sang the second version,
which was a solo).
It was penned by
Majrooh Sultanpuri.
