The title track of
Teri Meherbaniyan (1985) was the only male solo on the film’s soundtrack
– it was rendered by Shabbir Kumar.
But the meherbaniyan
(favours) the song referred to were not done by a two-legged person of the fairer
sex, but by a four-legged buddy.
And though it was
an emotional song, there’s no two ways about the fact that it would prompt
those who love dogs, or have had a canine companion, to flash their canines.
The track, which S
H Bihari penned, was composed by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar and Pyarelal
Ramprasad Sharma.
