Aye Watan Tere
Liye was the title track
of Karma, which released in 1986.
Not only was it
the only song from the film on this blog, but it was also one of the most
popular patriotic songs of all time from Hindi films.
The aforementioned
line, which was penned by Anand Bakshi, was preceded by a line that went, “Dil
diya hai, jaan bhi denge” (which could be translated to, “We have given our
hearts, and can lay down our lives as well”).
The
Laxmikant-Pyarelal composition was rendered by Kavita Krishnamurthy and
Mohammed Aziz.
