If the two
songs from Souten (1983) on this blog were arranged in the alphabetical
order, Shayad Meri Shaadi Ka Khayal would be the first.
By no
means would it be incorrect to state that given their real-life marital statuses,
the pair who (Kisho)rendered it was apt – Lata Mangeshkar is a spinster, and Mr
Kumar, of course, was well into his fourth marriage at that point.
The Usha
Khanna composition earned Kumar, and Saawan Kumar Tak, nominations in the Best
Male Playback Singer category and the Best Lyricist category, respectively, at
the 31st Filmfare Awards.
