The only song from
Arjun (1985) on this blog was Mammaya Kero Kero Kero Mama.
It became an
anthem of sorts, and was a desi distortion of Brazilian singer Carmen
Miranda’s Mamãe Eu Quero (Portuguese for, “Mom, I want it”).
The
track, which was penned by Javed Akhtar, was composed by none other than R D
Burman.
It
was rendered by Shailendra Singh. He may have become popular as the voice of
Rishi Kapoor, but there’s no two ways about the fact that this was perhaps his
finest song that wasn’t picturised on the actor.
