If the
four songs from Ghar (1978) were arranged in the alphabetical order, Aaj
Kal Paon would be the first.
While it
wasn’t the only contribution of the one and only Lata Mangeshkar to the
soundtrack of the film, it was her only solo.
If I had
to use one adjective to describe her rendition, it would be outstanding.
The track
was penned by the one and only Gulzar.
There’s no
two ways about the fact that it was one of music director R D Burman's best
soundtracks, and certainly one of his most underrated.
