secret that the No. 1 director of the 1990s, David Dhawan, idolised masala
filmmaker Manmohan Desai.
In fact, the former even named his film after a song from Desai’s film.
The track in question was Chal Mere Bhai, and it was the longest of the six tracks from Naseeb (1981) on this blog – it was half-a-dozen minutes and 40 seconds long.
It was rendered by Mohammed Rafi, who was joined behind the microphone by the film's leads, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor.
Anand Bakshi penned the track, which was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
