It hinted at a fLiNg

Most Hindi film lyricists are repeatedly inspired by the likes of Heer-Ranjha, Laila-Majnu, Mirza-Sahiba and Sohni-Mahiwal, as well as Romeo and Juliet.

But Santosh Anand was not.

That was evidenced by the line that went, “Pyar kar le ghadi do ghadi” (which could be translated to, “Let our love be momentary”).

It was from Zindagi Ki Na Toote Ladi, the only song from Kranti (1981) on this blog.

The track, which was a modern-day relationship funda, was rendered by Lata Mangeshkar and Nitin Mukesh.

It was composed by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma.
