Balasubrahmanyam may have dominated the soundtrack of Ek Duuje Ke Liye,
but there was one song in the film that wasn’t rendered by him.
The track in question was Solah Baras Ki Bali Umar, and it was sung by Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota, who was joined behind the microphone by Lata Mangeshkar.
It happened to be the longest song in the film – it was half-a-dozen minutes and 48 seconds long.
The song earned Anand Bakshi a nomination in the Best Lyricist category at the Filmfare Awards in 1982.
It was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
