Dadamoni (Bhos)lent it his voice

Ashok Kumar (a.k.a. Dadamoni), rendered his own songs in his early days.

But over the decades, his acting career flourished, and singing took a backseat.

However, the original voice behind two of his brother's (Kisho)reused classics – Koi Humdum Na Raha* and Ek Chatur Naar** – joined Asha B(hosl)ehind the microphone in Khubsoorat (1980).

The track in question was Piya Bawri.

Gulzar penned the R D Burman composition.

[*Note (1): Dadamoni's song was from Jeevan Naiya (1936). Kishore sang it in Jhumroo (1961).]

[**Note (2): Dadamoni's song was from Jhoola (1941). Kishore sang it in Padosan (1968).]
