underrated gem.

I was aware of the fact that it was rendered by K J Yesudas.
However, I must admit I did a double take when I first read the names of the lyricist and the music director.
The track was penned by Kaifi Azmi (the father of Shabana Azmi, the leading lady of the film).
It was composed by the one and only Bappi Lahiri.
