That was the translation of the opening line of the title track of Khatta Meetha, which went, “Yeh jeena hai angoor ka daana, khatta meetha”.
But by no means would it be incorrect to state that it was not just a sweet song, but a philosophical one as well.
In other words, the track, which was composed by Rajesh Roshan, bore the Gulzar stamp.
It was (Kisho)rendered by Usha Mangeshkar, who was joined behind the microphone by none other than Mr Kumar.
