By no means would
it be incorrect to state that the second Kishore Kumar solo from Anurodh*
on this blog – Mere Dil Ne Tadap Ke – was beautiful.
The track could be translated to, “When my suffering heart called your name”.
The film’s soundtrack may have fallen into Laxmikant-Pyarelal’s laps due to Rajesh Khanna’s (its leading man) misunderstanding with R D Burman, but boy, did the duo do an outstanding job?
Anand Bakshi penned the song.
(*Note: The soundtrack of the film contained another solo by Kumar. It was titled Jab Dard Nahin Tha Seene Mein.)
