The soundtrack of Manzil,
which released in 1979, featured a couple of versions of its most popular song,
Rimjhim Gire Saawan.
This blog contains a post on just one – the male version, which was (Kisho)rendered by Mr Kumar.
The female version was sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
They were penned by Yogesh, and composed by R D Burman.
While the track could be translated to, “Rain is pitter-pattering” (for the want of a better equivalent of Rimjhim).
But given the weather in Mumbai now, it wouldn’t be incorrect to translate the track to, “Hope rain pitter-patters”.
