Bakshi bagged the Filmfare Best Lyricist Award in 1979 for the only song from Apnapan
(1977) on this blog.
The first line of the Laxmikant-Pyarelal composition went, “Aadmi musafir hai, aata hai jaata hai. Aate-jaate raste mein yaadein chhod jaata hai” (which could be translated to, “Man is a traveller. He comes and goes. And during his journey, he leaves memories behind”.)
It was rendered by Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi (who has left behind wonderful memories).
In fact, the latter was nominated in the Best Male Playback Singer category at the aforementioned ceremony.
