Mangeshkar solos from Pakeezah on this blog – it was three minutes and
41 seconds long.
But its shelf life was far from short – it continues to be the most popular song in the film.
If the two songs penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri in the film were arranged in the alphabetical order, this track would be the first.
It was composed by Ghulam Mohammed, who composed two other Mangeshkar solos in the film – Mausam Hai Aashiqana (penned by the film’s director, Kamal Amrohi) and Teer-E-Nazar Dekhenge.
