refused the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for Be-Imaan (which
released in 1972), because he believed the award for Best Music Director should
have gone to Mohammed for Pakeezah. Interestingly, it was Shankarsingh
Raghuvanshi and Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal who took the trophy home for Be-Imaan
that year.
