Lata’s title track was underrated

There’s no two ways about the fact that Chupke Chupke Chal Ri Purvaiya, the title track of Chupke Chupke, was an underrated song.

The longer of the two solos rendered by Lata Mangeshkar in the film, it was five minutes and four seconds long.

It wouldn’t be incorrect to state that the part of the line that went, “Gopiyon sang Kanhaiya” (which could be translated to, “The group of female cowherds with Lord Krishna”) was the hook of the track, which was composed by the one and only S D Burman.

Anand Bakshi penned it.
