Tu Kahan Gayi Thi was the shorter of the two tracks
from Dharam Karam on this blog – it was five minutes and half-a-dozen
seconds long.
It was a conversational song, with both asking each other where they had gone, signing off their respective opening lines with phrases that make no sense if literally translated – “Tera mar jaaye saawariya” and “Teri mar jaaye sajaniya” (which mean, “Your lover passed away” and “Your beloved passed away”, respectively).
The track was (Kisho)rendered by Lata Mangeshkar and Mr Kumar.
Majrooh Sultanpuri penned the song, which R D Burman composed.
