The only song from
Sagina (1974) on this blog was one of the lighter tracks picturised on
the usually-intense Dilip Kumar. It was titled Saala Main To Sahab Ban Gaya.
While Saala can’t literally be translated, it means, “I have become a sophisticated gent”.
Interestingly, this was Kishore Kumar’s only song for the thespian.
It was joined behind the microphone by Pankaj Mitra.
Majrooh Sultanpuri penned the track, which S D Burman composed.
The film was a remake of Sagina Mahato (a Bengali film which released in 1970), and also starred his wife Saira Banu.
