It was among Rafi’s best

The peerless Mohammed Rafi, at his peak, was the top playback singer in the Hindi film industry.

But even during his so-called decline, he had quite a few feathers in his cap.


Teri Galiyon Mein – the only song from Hawas (1974) on this blog – was a case in point.
The only male solo in a soundtrack dominated by Asha Bhosle solos, the track earned him a Film World Magazine Award for Best Male Singer, and was tenth on the Binaca Geetmala annual list for 1974.
Saawan Kumar Tak penned the song, which Usha Khanna composed.
