Mehmood (Bhos)lent it his voice

The only song from Do Phool (1973) was Muthukodi Kawadi Hada.

While that line did not mean anything, it was adapted from Muthukullika Vaareergala, an M S Viswanathan composition from Anubavi Raja Anubavi, a Tamil film that released in 1967.

The track was rendered by Asha Bhosle, who was joined behind the microphone by Mehmood (who was one of the film’s leads).

Penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri, it was the longest song in the film – it was four minutes and 15 seconds long.

The man who composed it was the one and only R D Burman.
