Shah and Anandji Virji Shah earned their third nomination in the Best Music
Director category at the Filmfare Awards in 1974 for Zanjeer.
The longest track in the film was Pran’s ode to friendship, Yaari Hai Imaan Mera – it was half-a-dozen minutes and 20 seconds long.
Manna Dey’s only contribution to the soundtrack of the film earned him a nomination in the Best Male Playback Singer category at the same ceremony.
While they deserved their nominations, Gulshan Bawra went on to bag the trophy in the Best Lyricist category at the same ceremony.
