Every line of the S D Burman composition, which was four minutes and 56 seconds long, was fantastic.
But there’s no two ways about the fact the most interesting lines were, “Shaam hi se prem deepak main jalaoon. Phir wohi deepak doon main bujhaye” (which could be translated to, “At dusk, I light a lamp of love. And then I extinguish that lamp”).
Majrooh Sultanpuri penned the track.
