There’s no two ways about the fact that the title was ironic. Because if one took it literally, it would be tantamount to denying AB and CD their shares of the credit for its popularity. After all, AB stands for Anand Bakshi (who penned it), and CD stands for the composer duo (Laxmikant-Pyarelal).
And the icing on the cake, of course, was Lata Mangeshkar’s rendition.
