While the
rest of the soundtrack of Mera Gaon Mera Desh could be rechristened Mera
Soundtrack, Mere Solos (from the point of view of a certain Lata
Mangeshkar), the track that stood out was Kuchh Kehta Hai Yeh Saawan.
The reason was that it was the only duet in the film.
No prizes for guessing that Ms Mangeshkar was one of the two singers. She was joined behind the microphone by the one and only Mohammed Rafi.
The track, which was penned by Anand Bakshi, was composed by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma.
