Simti Si
Sharmai Si – a song with
an alliterative title – was the only song from Parwana (1971) on this
blog.
No prizes for guessing that it was rendered by the one and only Kishore Kumar.
It was, in fact, a pleasant surprise, because Madan Mohan Kohli, the composer of the track, employed him sparingly, preferring to use the vocals of Mohammed Rafi more often*.
The song was penned by Kaifi Azmi.
(*Note: Even the soundtrack of this film was Rafi-dominated. However, one song from the film – Yun Na Sharma – was rendered by Kumar and Rafi.)
