Ni Main Yaar
Manana Ni was the longest
of the three songs from Daag: A Poem of Love on this blog – it was five
minutes and 48 seconds long.
In fact, it was the longest song in the film.
The song, which was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, was rendered by the one and only Lata Mangeshkar (whom I’ve described as ‘Singer Uttam’, or singer par excellence, in the title of this post) and Minoo Purushottam.
It was penned by Sahir Ludhianvi, who did it justice, because, as his nom de plume suggests, he hailed from Punjab.
