The shortest of
the four songs from Anand on this blog, Maine Tere Liye Hi Saat Rang Ke Sapne Chune was three minutes and nine seconds long.
In fact, it was the shortest track in the film (barring the 47-second poem Maut Tu Ek Kavita Hai, which was recited by the then-yet-to-be-established actor Amitabh Bachchan).
There’s no two ways about the fact that it was a fabulous number.
The track, which was penned by Gulzar (who also wrote Maut Tu Ek Kavita Hai), was composed by Salil Choudhury. It was rendered by Mukesh Chand Mathur.
