There’s no two
ways about the fact that Na Jiya Lage Na and its Bengali version, titled
Na Mono Lage Na were awesome.
The former was the only female solo on the soundtrack of Anand. No prizes for guessing that it was rendered by none other than Lata Mangeshkar (who rendered the latter as well).
It was three minutes and 22 seconds long.
The underrated track, which Salil Choudhury composed, was based on Raga Malgunji.
Interestingly, Gulzar, who penned the track, also wrote the film’s dialogues, for which he won the Filmfare Award in 1972.
