Bangle Ke
Peechhe was a track I didn’t
know until I heard its remixed version.
Yes, the same one that got purists hot under the collar!
If you’re still wondering what I’m talking about, remember Kaanta Laga from Baby Doll?
The original was the only song from Samadhi (1972) on this blog.
It was rendered by Lata Mangeshkar.
Unlike Manmohan Desai (who preferred Laxmikant-Pyarelal’s compositions), his arch-rival Prakash Mehra – who directed this film – frequently collaborated with Kalyanji-Anandji. So it was undoubtedly surprising that this track, which Majrooh Sultanpuri penned, was composed by R D Burman.
