The only song from
Banarasi Babu (1973) on this blog was its title track.
The first two lines of the song went, “Bure bhi hum, bhale bhi hum, samajhiyo na kisi se kum”.
The Kumar (Kisho)rendition was undoubtedly a perfect introduction to the film’s leading man, Dev Anand (who was associated with wonderful films for the first 30 years of his career, and the next three decades making atrocious films, but he could never be written off).
The track, which was penned by Rajinder Krishan, was composed by Kalyanji Virji Shah and Anandji Virji Shah.
