Kumar kept it (Kisho)really simple

If you laugh, the world will laugh with you. But if you cry, it won’t cry with you.

That was how Jo Tum Hansoge – the only song from Kathputli (1971) on this blog – could be translated.

Kumar (Kisho)rendered this Kalyanji-Anandji composition, which was simple.

It was penned by Verma Malik, whose real name was Barkatrai Malik. Barkat is Urdu for prosperity, Rai is Hindi for opinion and Malik is Hindi for owner. So the possessor of a talent for words became famous on adopting a pseudonym on the advice of noted music director Hansraj Behl.
