It wAs(h)a tR(af)ibute to Jaikishan

Andaz (1971) was one of Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal’s last films as a composer*. He was born on November 4, 1929 and died of cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 42 on September 12, 1971.

If the four songs from the film on this blog were arranged in the alphabetical order, Dil Use Do Jo Jaan De De would be the first.

The track, which Hasrat Jaipuri penned, was rendered by Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi.

(*Note: His partner, Shankarsingh Raghuvanshi, continued to compose as Shankar Jaikishan until he died on April 26, 1987.)
