It was long and KAtchy

Sa Re Ke Sa Re – a beautiful play on the Sargam (i.e., the seven notes) – was the longest song on the soundtrack of Parichay – it was half-a-dozen minutes long.

By no means would it be incorrect to state that it was also the catchiest song in the film.

It was (Kisho)rendered by Asha Bhosle and Mr Kumar.

A couple of lines of the track, which Gulzar penned, went, “Kahan tak pahunche the hum? Pancham tak” [which could be translated to, “Where have we reached? The fifth note (i.e., Pa)”.]

Incidentally, R D Burman composed it.
