Of course, there is nothing wrong in professing everlasting love for your beloved, but in the case of Kishore Kumar, alas, life could never imitate art – he died a couple of years before his 60th birthday.
He was joined behind the microphone by Asha Bhosle.
The next line of the track went, “Aur tum hogi pachpan ki” (which means, “And you’ll be 55”). Interestingly, she was 54 when Kumar passed away.
