Manna Dey did (Archa)nail it

If the three songs from Buddha Mil Gaya (1971) on this blog were arranged in the alphabetical order, Aayo Kahan Se Ghanshyam would be the first.

Being a semi-classical song, only one singer could have done it justice, and that was Manna Dey. Unsurprisingly, he nailed it.

He was joined behind the microphone by Archana.

Majrooh Sultanpuri penned the R D Burman composition.

If this post weren’t preceded by the songs of Andaz (1971), there would be a series dedicated to Hrishikesh Mukherjee on this blog. He also directed Anand, which released the same year.
