Kishore’s solo became extremely popular

At the beginning of his career, Yash Chopra directed five films (including the songless Ittefaq, which released in 1969) for his older brother, B R Chopra’s banner, and three for Gulshan Rai’s Trimurti Films.

In the chronological order, the first in the Gulshan Rai-Yash Chopra ‘trinity’ (pun intended) was Joshila, which released in 1973.

One of its tracks – Kiska Rasta Dekhe – continues to be very popular.

The only male solo in the film, it was (Kisho)rendered by none other than Kumar.

The track, which was penned by Sahir Ludhianvi, was composed by R D Burman.
