The second
song from Gora Aur Kala on this blog was an underrated solo, Ek Na Ek
Din Yeh Kahani Banegi.
It was rendered by Mohammed Rafi, whose other contributions to the soundtrack of the film were a solo (Tere Nain Nashe De Pyale) and a duet (Dhoom Mach Gayi Dhoom, with Usha Mangeshkar).
The next line of the Laxmikant-Pyarelal composition (penned by Anand Bakshi) went, “Tu mere sapnon ki rani banegi”.
But Hema Malini, one of the film’s leading ladies, was destined for bigger things – she went on to become the industry’s Dream Girl.
