Asha was on a roll

No Pappe* could save Hindi film music aficionados from the unstoppable force that Asha Bhosle had become by the time she recorded the songs of Caravan.

Her second solo on the soundtrack of the film was Daiya Yeh Main Kahan.

The track, which was penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri, was composed by none other than R D Burman.

(*Note: Pappe is an affectionate term used by Punjabis to refer to a male buddy. It is equivalent to brother. The hook of the song was, “Pappe bacha lo tussi”, which could be translated to, “Save me, brother”.)
