While 1969
was a watershed in the Hindi film industry (as far as music was concerned), it
would be incorrect to state that Mohammed Rafi was no longer relevant.
This was
evidenced by the fact that the male version of Gar Tum Bhula Na Doge –
the only track from Yakeen on this blog – was better known than its
female version, which was rendered by Lata Mangeshkar.
The track,
“Jise tum bhula na sakoge” (which could be translated to, “One that you
won’t be able to forget”), was penned by Hasrat Jaipuri.
Shankar
Jaikishan composed it.
