Kumar (Kisho)rendered this evergreen solo

If the two Kishore Kumar solos on the soundtrack of Aradhana were arranged in the alphabetical order, Mere Sapnon Ki Rani would be the first.

The S D Burman composition wasn’t just a treat to the ears, but it was visually pleasing as well – it was picturised on Rajesh Khanna on an open jeep (alongside Sujit Kumar, playing the mouth organ), and Sharmila Tagore aboard the Darjeeling toy train, reading Alastair MacLean’s 1965 novel When Eight Bells Toll.

The Bengali equivalent of the song, which was penned by Anand Bakshi, was titled Mor Shopner Shathi.
