Having described Aradhana
as an epochal film in my post on Baghon Mein Bahar Hai, it would be
appropriate to reiterate that that was due to the fact that it was after this
film that Mohammed Rafi’s star began to wane.
Nonetheless, his other contribution to the film’s soundtrack – Gunguna Rahe Hain Bhanware – was outstanding.
He was joined behind the microphone by Asha Bhosle. It was her only contribution to the soundtrack.
Anand Bakshi penned the S D Burman composition.
Its Bengali version – (Kisho)rendered by Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar – was titled Gunjone Dole Je Bhromor.
