There’s no two
ways about that Kishore Kumar became the numero uno playback singer in
the Hindi film industry post-Aradhana.
Of his three contributions to the film’s soundtrack, one – Kora Kagaz Tha Yeh Man Mera – was a duet.
He was joined behind the microphone by Lata Mangeshkar.
They rendered the Bengali version of the song, which was titled Aj Hridoye Bhalobeshe, as well.
The track, which was penned by Anand Bakshi, was composed by S D Burman (who rendered the title track of the Hindi version. It didn’t have an equivalent in the Bengali version).
